/Note: If you have been watching "Decoupled", you will realise that they introduce Arya as a misanthrope but he is just exposing people of their charade/ So Arya, played by Madhavan, in Netflix's Decoupled is the life of the show. Real people, at least in India, speak exactly like that, or some do. They body shame, fat shame, they laugh at you and that is how you grow a thick layer and pass sarcastic comments. He says what others just think. He is the Tamilian with no filters. He is warm too. You can see it in the way he cares for Shruti and also to an extent, Rohini. Surveen has done a great job too. They might have taken it a bit too far in several instances and as a Hyderabadi, I may not be able to relate with many of the slices of the Gurgaon life but certainly Arya has poured life into his character. He is so real. He is annoying at times. He speaks the wrong things, does what he feels like. He never sugar coats and is always observant. Much like a writer. Some time...

** It’s amusing when cultured people speak of the fragility of relationships If not for the rituals and rites None could stop their separation After a heartbreaking bitter fight They hide their scars with jewelry Treat their progeny like trophies And the adhesive that binds them are archaic rules laced in humdrum they do not speak to one another but speak for each other they call it love and care instead of a shared despair take it easy when the cultured ones speak had they known, would future be so bleak?
