Hakuna Matata!
In our carefree days, when Lion King was first released, we watched it in 35 mm and in 2D. The only 3D picture we had seen till then was Chota Chetan. But watching Lion King in IMAX was a visual rhapsody. The majestic sunrise of the Pride Land, the solemn shadows, the heckling hyenas and the fireflies that dotted the screen was a festival of grandeur.
Those who are grappling with the timetables of the movies released this week, catch this before it whisks away from the large screen.
And in the 3D as the horned bill flies towards your seat and the sillahoutes of the sunsets don the screen, you know it's time well spent and merriment without measurement.
The story is known to us but what remains effective is the attitude of Pumba -- the carefree hog: Hakuna Matata - No worries.
As citisens of the greener pastures, their attitude along with their sensitivity created a beautiful land that comforted Simba during an irreparable loss and distress; he turned out to be a humbler lion, doesn't he?
Like Ranchoddas says in Three Idiots for All is Well, ye mantra yaad karlo bahut kaam anewali hain (by heart this hymn, it will come into use for a long time).
Pumba and Timon, the Chandler and Joey of the Lion King swear by their motto. Like the calming rain on a sultry monsoon evening, their humour is measured and neccessary. Much like the light-heartedness of our grandmothers. And in this tumultuous times, it is necessary to be eccentric too.
But why? Haven't we read enough stories of stress, suicide, natural and created disasters over the past few weeks? While some are unfortunately unavoidable, a few could have been (hint: suicides).
Yes, we live in an extremely competitive world but we must protect ourselves and our core to ensure we live, worry-free.
So, Hakuna Matata!
Remember this hymn:
Hakuna Matata!
What a wonderful phrase
Hakuna Matata!
Hakuna Matata!
What a wonderful phrase
Hakuna Matata!
Ain't no passing craze
It means no worries
For the rest of your days
It's our problem-free philosophy
Hakuna Matata!
For the rest of your days
It's our problem-free philosophy
Hakuna Matata!
Note: Since a long time now, the focus on education and success has been tremendously burdening the indian and Chinese and the south-east Asian students. Shockingly, it's not only the students who score less who take the extreme step but also the ones who pass as well--a student from Kota committed suicide after writing an eight-page letter. Their parents' desire to ensure security and a happy "life" is butchering their present. Ironically, the education that is supposed to make us wise, is making us losing our minds.
