The World of Knowledgable Idiots and Emotional Fools
/this is dedicated to my father and my family who have taught me that life is about 'giving'/
What does education do to you? The biggest question and problem lies within the lack of moral compass. The biggest equation is hidden and we focus on mundane laws and principles. The biggest motivation should be derived from self.
'Knowledgeable idiot' is a term used by my Bhabhi, Sunita. I found the term particularly interesting because I knew that I would be using it often. I find engineers with no emotional balance. I find men and women with inadequate resources, stable. I find cab drivers and illiterate people, balanced. Hyderabad and Delhi are super emotional. We lack the tenacity to perform like a donkey but we have the pride to question. We are a land of emotional fools.
Firstly, both these spaces have been governed by Mughals and rules with Tehzeeb. This rules out any possibility of slavery and bowing to the higher caste. You will never fail to recognise a Hyderabadi in a crowd - their adaa, nakhras, sukoon, pagalpan reflects in their calm eyes. I wonder why Hyderabadis are calm, all the time. I question repeatedly to fall into the same loop.
Secondly, people who are similar to people from Hyderabadis: Delhi-ites. I wonder how they manage to live with their emotions in place and yet being constantly in love with the world. North-South; East-West - all these distinctions are created by Aliens and Imaginary People. People from Delhi are always happy and their grief is hidden in their hearts and whenever, they drink, they blab it out.
I am more concerned than overwhelmed, now a days. How do these emotional fools live? How are knowledgeable idiots surviving? Perhaps, it is time for us to change.
Let's do it.
Happy Birthday Virginia Woolf and Daddy!
