Monica Lewinsky and the Price of Shame
/for Monica Lewinsky/
Love is the biggest form of corruption - unknown source
Break up is the biggest form of humilation.
The Ikigai of most of our lives is Moral Compass and Humanity. However, we end up comitting mistakes for various reasons: Job, Marriage, Love, Career. Heart break is unavoidable.
Silk, portrayed by Vidya Balan, tells us the tale of a heart break of a woman, trying to make it big in the Film Industry. We have seen similar cases in many movies. However, when I discuss with my male colleagues they opine the same: She knew what she was getting into.

This changed my perspective on my own life. We all know what we are getting into. The hue and cry around it makes it a problem.
Similarly, Monica Lewinsky of the infamous scandal, knew that her life would never be the same. She had to pay the price of love. As she unabashedly says
"At 24, we all commit mistakes. We fall in love. Just that my boss was the President of USA."
Love is not the problem. The problem is "who you fall in love with; the parties involved; the stakes."
Quoting her from an article, a room full of male interrogaters takes a lot out of you. Oh, it certainly does!
Lastly: Princess Diana. I was a journalist and I was so attached to my work. But Princess Diana's story will never let me step into that world again. She was chased by media persons, gossip mongers, and some loyalists. Well, her price of shame was highest. She was killed by her own speed and guilt.
We live in a brave and bold world. However, issues like these are hidden or not spoken about. We all live in fear of death and loss of honor. But once you cross a certain stage in life and once you have seen enough of shit, the world seems beautiful.
Thus, despite the world and its infinite fallacies, the butterfly will still flap its delicate wings; the running water will not stop unless you get up; the bills will not be paid. Things don't happen, we need to make it happen.
