how i over came my fears by Raj Kumar Kasi

How does it feel when you go to your deepest fear and you overcome it?

For me, fear can be sometimes good. Many times when I was successful, it was because I had a feeling of fear to lose. In other words, I hate losing. I hate losing more than I like winning. There is a difference.

But sometimes, your fears dominate/hinder your confidence, your passion and your goals. This is where I think, we need to take a step and over come it.

Early this summer, I decided to do something about my fears. I know what it is going to be. So I made my appointment with that thing!

Those 7 days waiting for that thing, was Ike 7 years. I felt like time was running slow. All kinds of fears was building up. Thoughts of giving up too, occasionally. I was more convinced about myself - how many times I re-thought, re-calculated and many re’s before I wanted to do something big, something different.
Yet, I wanted to do it.

The day arrived. It was a fresh morning(even though I couldn’t sleep much last night). I reached the location at 7AM(30 minutes earlier). I found my buddy there, waiting for me.
We did the registration and other basic formalities. We’re all set!
But..the weather was not supportive. That didn’t allow me or anybody to get started. Never in my life I had checked the weather reports on that day. 7 hours passed away, still the weather was not showing any positive signs.
After 8 hours, out of no where the weather has gone all clear. The first name they announced was mine. The dormant adrenalines triggered and they were all set to get active.
I was harnessed with required gear by an certified instructor and was all set to action. This is a picture of it.
(Smiling yet scared)

And this is a pic before I got into the plane.

My ears started feeling light due to change in pressure outside. I was there almost 14000 ft above earth and yet I was asked to say cheers and thumbs up. So here it is.

By this time I am all hooked up with the instructor. The time is up. We are at 14000 ft and it is time for the first sky diver to jump. And it was me.
Look at me.
Those 10 seconds are the most crucial and deciding moments. You make a moment or mar it.
The thought on my mind at that very moment was “Let it go..Just let it all go!”
Me and my tandem skydiving instructor both jumped out of the plane.

I’ve never experienced such much silence in my life. It was going down with an amazing speed of 130 mph. It was just falling - the best experience I’ve ever had.
Things like these shouldn’t be done just out of a whim, oh it is so cool..you need to prepare for it..you have to get trained.
There was fear until the moment when I was at the edge of the plane deciding whether to jump or not. Once I jumped then it is your instincts!

And when I was falling-freely and the only thoughts were running on my mind were these and would close my speech with it.

If you have eagerness in your heart, it means you are alive,
If your eyes are filled with dreams, it means you are alive
Learn to be free like the wind,
Embrace every moment with open arms,
If you carry surprise in your eyes, it means you are alive,
If you have eagerness in your heart, it means you are alive.”

This is what I realized after overcoming my fears.
